When multiplying a number by 11:
1. Using your pointer and middle fingers, put your pointer
finger under the digit on the far right, put that number down, move your fingers to the left and add the two digits. (If the sum is two digits long, cary the number in the tens place and add it when you add the next two numbers.)
2. Repeat until the finger that’s on the right is on the last digit. Add any carried numbers to this digit.
